my conscience believes that my eyes will deceive
and and avoids in fear any fish that may appear
but what harm can they mean though their eyes do so gleam
flashing and splashing things in the glimmer of the moon beams
intercepting with a translucent gleam
my conscience made unrest
that my eyes may weep salty tears in the blue water deep
before me unfolds a scene to most unknown
the fish dance to a rhythm undertow which sags in my bones
the water flows into my lungs
the bubbles rise in bursts of sound
into my bowels it has sunk
this faithfully frothing fish funk
